IN GAME RULES

1. General Roleplay Etiquette

  • Respect All Players: Treat fellow players with respect, both in and out of character. Bullying, harassment, and personal attacks are strictly forbidden.
  • No Discrimination or Hate Speech: Any form of discrimination, including offensive comments related to race, gender, religion, or sexuality, will not be tolerated.
  • Keep Roleplay Realistic: All actions and behaviours in-game should be realistic and aligned with the scenario at hand. Unrealistic actions (e.g., jumping off buildings without consequences) are not allowed.
  • No Metagaming: Do not use out-of-character (OOC) information or knowledge to influence your in-character (IC) decisions. Stick to what your character knows based on their in-game experiences.

2. Power-gaming and Fair Roleplay

  • No Power-gaming: Avoid forcing actions on others without giving them a chance to respond or resist. For example, you cannot automatically claim that you’ve successfully disarmed or captured another player without giving them a chance to react.
  • Realistic Injuries and Consequences: If your character gets injured, you must roleplay the injury realistically. Faking unrealistic recoveries or ignoring significant injuries will not be tolerated.
  • Balanced Roleplay: Ensure that all players have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to roleplay scenarios. Do not monopolize the roleplay or make others feel excluded.

3. In-Character (IC) and Out-of-Character (OOC) Distinctions

  • Stay In-Character (IC): Keep all discussions within the game world unless using designated OOC channels. Breaking character disrupts immersion for others.
  • Use OOC for Clarifications Only: OOC chats should be used only for game-related clarifications and not for casual conversations. Keep OOC messages respectful and limited.
  • Do Not Mix IC and OOC: Avoid transferring real-world emotions or conflicts into the game. Similarly, do not use OOC grievances to affect your character’s behavior in roleplay.

4. Vehicle Use and Traffic Rules

  • Follow Traffic Laws: All players are expected to follow in-game traffic laws unless their roleplay scenario allows for criminal or emergency vehicle behavior. Speeding, reckless driving, or running red lights without reason is considered FailRP (failure to roleplay).
  • No Vehicle Ramming: Do not intentionally crash into other players’ vehicles or run people over without valid in-game reasoning. This will be considered trolling or FailRP.
  • No Vehicle Abuse: Using vehicles unrealistically, such as driving up buildings or continuously crashing into obstacles without roleplay consequences, is forbidden.
  • Proper Use of Emergency Vehicles: Only authorized players (such as police, fire, or medical staff) may use emergency vehicles. Do not use these vehicles to bypass regular traffic rules if you're not on duty.

5. Crime and Law Enforcement Roleplay

  • Realistic Criminal Roleplay: If you’re roleplaying as a criminal, ensure that your actions make sense within the context of the game world. Random or senseless violence, such as "deathmatching" (killing other players without reason), is not allowed.
  • Comply with Law Enforcement RP: If law enforcement officers engage with you in a roleplay scenario, respect the interaction. Failing to comply with police without roleplay reasoning or constantly resisting arrest can be considered FailRP.
  • No Cop Baiting: Do not intentionally provoke law enforcement into chasing you or engaging in a pursuit just for fun. Police roleplay should be realistic and not treated as a game mechanic.
  • Realistic Criminal Punishments: If your character is caught and sentenced, accept the consequences. Continuously escaping from jail or refusing to roleplay punishments fairly will lead to warnings or bans.

6. Combat and PvP Rules

  • No Random Deathmatch (RDM): You cannot attack or kill other players without a valid in-game reason. Initiating combat without context is considered RDM and is punishable.
  • No Kill-on-Sight (KOS): You cannot attack or kill another player the moment you see them unless a valid roleplay scenario supports it. Every conflict must have a roleplay build-up.
  • Give Players Time to React: In combat situations, allow other players the opportunity to react and defend themselves. Avoid sudden attacks or using unfair methods to gain an advantage.
  • Weapon Use: Only use weapons your character would realistically have access to in the given scenario. Do not spawn in heavy or advanced weaponry unless your roleplay background justifies it.

7. Fail Roleplay (FailRP)

  • No Unrealistic Actions: FailRP includes performing unrealistic actions that your character would not be able to do, such as jumping from a high building without injury or using out-of-game knowledge to avoid danger.
  • No Force-Resisting: Refusing to acknowledge consequences (like being arrested, shot, or injured) is considered FailRP. Roleplay realistically based on what has happened to your character.
  • Respect Server-Specific Guidelines: Follow any unique roleplay guidelines that may be outlined for specific in-game factions (e.g., police or military units). FailRPing these roles will result in penalties.

8. Robbery and Hostage Situations

  • Realistic Robbery Behaviour: When roleplaying a robbery, ensure that your actions are realistic and not exaggerated for dramatic effect. Don’t rob stores or individuals repeatedly without a cooldown period.
  • No Abusing Hostage Scenarios: Hostage situations should be handled realistically and respectfully for all parties involved. Do not take hostages without a valid roleplay reason or abuse the system to stall police or extort other players excessively.
  • Fair Play in Negotiations: In negotiations with law enforcement during a hostage situation, ensure the roleplay remains balanced and believable. Unrealistic demands or behaviour will result in FailRP penalties.

9. Spawn Areas and Safe Zones

  • No Spawn Killing: Attacking or killing players near spawn points or safe zones is strictly prohibited. These areas are meant to allow players to prepare before heading into the game.
  • Respect Safe Zones: In designated safe zones (such as hospitals, police stations, etc.), combat and criminal activities are not allowed. Using safe zones as a means to escape combat is also forbidden.
  • Do Not Abuse Spawn Protection: If spawn protection is enabled, do not exploit it to initiate combat or evade ongoing roleplay. This is considered an abuse of game mechanics.

10. Roleplay Environment and Immersion

  • No Breaking Roleplay: Avoid breaking character, especially during critical roleplay scenarios. Only use OOC channels for necessary communications, and don’t disrupt immersion with unnecessary comments.
  • Stay in Character: While playing, stay true to your character's background, abilities, and personality. Continuously breaking character disrupts the overall roleplay atmosphere.
  • No Trolling: Engaging in actions designed solely to frustrate, annoy, or troll others (e.g., running through roleplay scenarios for no reason or causing chaos) is against the rules.

11. Exploits, Hacking, and Glitches

  • No Hacking or Scripting: Any form of hacking, scripting, or use of external programs to gain an unfair advantage is strictly prohibited and will lead to permanent bans.
  • No Glitch Exploits: Using game glitches or bugs to bypass systems (e.g., escaping jail, gaining money or weapons unfairly) is considered cheating and will result in immediate punishment.
  • Report Exploits: If you come across any in-game bugs or glitches, report them to the staff. Abusing these exploits for personal gain is considered a bannable offense.

12. Property and Asset Ownership

  • Fair Use of Assets: Do not abuse in-game properties (e.g., homes, businesses) for purposes outside of roleplay. For example, owning multiple properties just to hoard them is considered poor roleplay behaviour.
  • No Property Hoarding: Limit the number of properties or assets you own to a realistic level for your character. Excessive ownership of businesses or houses without roleplay justification is not allowed.
  • No Scamming: Scamming other players out of in-game currency or property through OOC methods is prohibited. All transactions and negotiations must be handled fairly within roleplay.

13. Economy and Job Roleplay

  • No Farming or Grinding: Avoid excessively farming or grinding for in-game currency in a way that disrupts the natural flow of roleplay. Earning money should be done through fair roleplay actions.
  • Respect Job Roles: If your character has a specific job (e.g., police, medic, business owner), ensure you roleplay it properly. Misusing job tools or failing to perform job duties will result in removal from the job role.
  • No Job-Hopping: Constantly switching jobs or roleplay factions to maximize money or resources without reasonable in-game justification is forbidden.

These In-Game Rules ensure that the Alysta Roleplay Community maintains a balanced, fair, and immersive environment for all players. Breaking any of these rules will lead to warnings, kicks, or bans, depending on the severity of the violation.

14. Respect for Game Mechanics

  • No Abusing Game Systems: Do not exploit any in-game system to gain an unfair advantage (e.g., repeatedly logging in and out to avoid arrest or consequences).
  • Do Not Spam Commands or Actions: Avoid spamming any game commands, such as repeatedly using emotes, vehicle commands, or chat features. This can disrupt the flow of roleplay.
  • Report Bugs Immediately: If you encounter bugs, glitches, or server issues, report them immediately rather than abusing them for personal gain.

15. Job-Specific Roleplay

  • Police Roleplay: Police officers must follow a realistic chain of command and roleplay procedures. Random arrests or using force without proper justification will be considered FailRP.
  • Medical Roleplay: Medics are responsible for providing realistic and timely medical assistance. They should not prioritize roleplay based on personal relationships or avoid helping players due to in-character conflicts.
  • Firefighter Roleplay: Firefighters must focus on their duties and handle emergencies as realistically as possible. Avoid using your role to bypass roleplay restrictions or get involved in combat.
  • Civilians in Roleplay: Civilians should behave in a manner that reflects realistic daily life unless their character is actively involved in crime or other significant in-character events.

16. Respect for Time and Scenario Progression

  • Do Not Interrupt Ongoing Roleplays: Avoid entering active roleplay scenarios without permission or a valid in-character reason. Interrupting scenes or forcing your way into roleplays can be disruptive.
  • No Abusing Time Skips: If time skips are allowed in a scenario (e.g., fast-forwarding a scene), they must be done in agreement with all players involved. Don’t skip time just to avoid consequences or speed up events.
  • Pace Your Roleplay: Ensure that your roleplay flows at a reasonable pace and allows other players time to participate. Do not rush through actions or scenarios without giving others a chance to respond.

17. Private and Group Roleplay

  • Respect Private Roleplays: If a group is engaged in a private roleplay, avoid inserting yourself unless invited. Give players space to conduct closed scenes without unnecessary interference.
  • Group Roleplay Behaviour: When in group settings, ensure everyone has a chance to participate. Do not dominate group conversations or actions, and ensure all players are contributing to the roleplay.

18. Communications and Chat Rules

  • Use Correct Channels: Stick to the correct chat channels for different types of communication (e.g., IC, OOC, help channels). Do not flood or misuse channels for purposes they are not intended for.
  • No Spamming the Chat: Spamming chat with repeated messages, symbols, or excessive chatter is forbidden. Keep communications clear and concise to avoid disrupting others.
  • Respectful Language: While roleplay may involve tension, insults, or conflict, ensure that no offensive, inappropriate, or excessively vulgar language is used in ways that go against the community’s values.

19. Roleplay Scenarios with Children or Vulnerable Characters

  • No Abusing Vulnerable Characters: If roleplaying as a child or vulnerable individual (e.g., elderly or injured character), ensure that your actions reflect the limitations and vulnerabilities of your character. Do not engage in unrealistic or overpowered actions.
  • No Exploitation of Child Characters: Do not engage in inappropriate or offensive behavior toward child characters. Any behavior deemed inappropriate will result in immediate punishment.

20. Faction-Specific Rules

  • Respect Faction Rules: If you are part of a faction (police, military, crime syndicate, etc.), you must follow the specific guidelines set for that group. Failure to comply can result in removal from the faction.
  • Faction Responsibilities: Members of factions are expected to act responsibly and not abuse their positions for personal gain. Misusing faction resources, vehicles, or authority will lead to disciplinary action.
  • No Double-Roleplaying in Conflicting Factions: Avoid being part of two factions that may have conflicting interests (e.g., being in both law enforcement and a criminal gang). This creates unfair advantages and unbalances roleplay.

21. Weapons and Equipment Rules

  • Realistic Weapon Usage: Only carry and use weapons that your character would realistically have access to. Do not spawn in high-powered or military-grade weapons unless it fits your role.
  • Weapon Holstering: When not engaged in combat or specific roleplay scenarios, ensure weapons are holstered. Walking around with weapons constantly drawn breaks immersion and disrupts roleplay.
  • No Excessive Weapon Stockpiling: Avoid hoarding excessive numbers of weapons or ammunition. Stockpiling without justification can lead to unbalanced combat situations.

22. Combat Logging

  • No Combat Logging: Logging out or disconnecting from the game to avoid arrest, combat, or other in-game consequences is strictly prohibited. Players must see scenarios through to their conclusion.
  • Report Disconnections: If you are disconnected accidentally during an important roleplay scene, inform the involved players and staff as soon as possible to resume the scenario fairly.

23. Assisting Others in Rule-Breaking

  • No Assisting in Rule-Breaking: Do not help others in breaking the rules, such as providing safe haven for players who have combat logged, or covering for a friend who is abusing in-game systems.
  • Encourage Fair Play: Always encourage others to follow the rules and ensure roleplay remains fair and balanced for all participants.

24. Roleplaying Undercover or Secret Roles

  • Respect Undercover Guidelines: If you are roleplaying as an undercover agent or operative, ensure that your actions remain realistic and aligned with your faction’s goals. Do not use undercover roles to gain unfair access to other factions' information.
  • Secrecy and Discretion: While playing undercover or in secretive roles, avoid making it obvious to others OOC. Keep roleplay believable and maintain the integrity of the character.

25. Non-Playable Characters (NPCs) and Bot Usage

  • Realistic NPC Use: When using NPCs or interacting with game-generated characters, roleplay their actions as realistically as possible. Do not use NPCs to bypass or cheat game systems.
  • No Botting: Using automated bots or scripts to perform actions in-game, such as farming resources, is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate action against the offending player.
